INDY SNOW FORCE ALERT

WEATHER FORECAST AS OF TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2010

According to local, national and private weather services, today’s forecast calls for potential flurries during the day today and snow beginning this evening. Snow is expected to be in the area until Thursday, February 25. Snow accumulations during the overnight should be less than an inch. Our low during the overnight should reach 25 degrees.

INDY SNOW FORCE ACTION

The Indy Snow Force will be activated today with a full contingent of 80 Snow Force Drivers at 3:30 pm to begin prepping for potential snow accumulations. 80 relief drivers will be brought on duty at 11:00 pm to continue operations through the overnight hours in preparation for tomorrow’s morning rush hour commute.

The Indianapolis Fleet Services (IFS) Division’s mobile units will provide maintenance support as needed and will operate on a 24-hour basis throughout the event.
